Cycling Among the Masterpieces of Tone Kralj

Route Description
After gathering in the center of Ilirska Bistrica, we cycle up to the Parish Church of St. Peter, where we admire Kralj’s masterpiece from the 1950s.

This is followed by a descent into the valley, crossing the Reka River and climbing toward the village of Prem, where we visit the Church of St. Helena – the first church painted by Tone Kralj in 1921.

We then continue past Ilirska Bistrica toward the source of the Reka River to the village of Podgraje, where we view Kralj’s remarkable art.

At the end of the tour, we return to Ilirska Bistrica and visit the Church of St. George in the old town center.
