Bear's Bike Trail Mašun

The mysterious forests of the Mašun Plateau invite you to bike along the marked paths in the shade of ancient trees.

The longest bike trail of all the Mašun bike loops is suitable for moderately fit bikers as it run across the Mašun Plateau.

Route: Mašun - Velika Kalvarija – Vratca – Križišče - Blatna dolina – Strgarija - Mašun.

From the starting point at the Mašun Guesthouse, the trail heads towards Sviščaki. After one kilometre, you reach the crossroads with the road Kozarje-Sviščaki, where you head towards Kozarje. Continue down this road for 3 km and make a left turn at the crossroads onto a forest trail and keep right at the next crossroads. Next you arrive at a crossroads of four roads where you go straight ahead and climb up the hill. You then reach another crossroads where you turn left and continue going uphill past a fortified structure. Once past it, you reach a crossroads with an abandoned concrete trough where you make a right turn uphill. After a little more than a kilometre, the road begins to descend through the forest to a clearing with houses called “križišče”. Here, you make a left turn and you first start climbing and then descend towards Strgarija, where you reach a crossroads with the Fox's Trail after four kilometres. Once there, you turn right onto the road towards Strgarija, which takes you to the highest point of the trail. Descending, you keep going straight and reach a clearing called Blatna dolina. You return using the same road and after 160 m you turn right onto the Cesta za Črnim vrhom. You then have a moderate climb ahead of you past Piškov laz to the foot of Črni vrh. At 24.4 km, the road joins Bačka cesta, where you make a left turn and arrive in Mašun past Koreja Valley.

The Mašun Guesthouse, famous for its excellent wild game and other traditional dishes, also offers accommodation.
