1. The one and only Lake Bled
If you like picturesque alpine lakes, then Lake Bled is definitely the place for you. Located in the heart of the Alps, it is the only lake in Slovenia with an island in the middle. To make everything even more fairy-tale-like, there is a small church on the island. Lake Bled is one of the most photographed places in Slovenia and there are numerous spots where you can take that perfect photo of the island with the church in the middle of the lake… and if that is not enough for you, there is also a castle overlooking the lake from a high cliff. Fairy tale indeed.

2. Walk by the riverside of Ljubljana
The old town centre of our capital city of Ljubljana is a gathering place for everybody who wants to be “in the moment”. Ljubljana offers many places for perfect Instagram photos, from the modern Metelkova City with its urban graffiti and subculture movement to the foodie scene at the “Odprta kuhna”, roughly translated as “Open Kitchen”, which brings together the best chefs from different restaurants in Ljubljana and Slovenia. Slovenia has one of the most interesting natural phenomena you can find in the world. During spring and autumn, the karst plains turn into lakes. The largest of its kind is Lake Cerknica, which offers stunning scenes for your Instagram posts. Slovenia is really underground Quite literally, as we currently have more than 12,000 underground caves and new ones are discovered daily. The most famous cave in Slovenia is the Postojna Cave, but for a pure photographic experience visit Križna Cave with more than 20 emerald underground lakes.

5. High mountains, steep cliffs and pure nature
The Triglav National Park is a nature park and, you guessed it, it is named after Triglav, the highest mountain in the heart of the park, which is also the highest summit in Slovenia (2864 m). 6. Charming seaside
A charming town on a small peninsula at the Mediterranean Sea in Slovenia. It doesn’t get more authentic than this… or does it? 7. Karst villages – a poetry of stone and nature
The Karst is famous for many things, and stone architecture and masonry is one of them. Visit the village of Štanjel, located on the top of a hill, intertwined with stone streets full of history. Drink a glass of wine and enjoy a slice of prosciutto in the shade of a medieval castle. Photo tip: don´t miss the Ferrari Garden with its stone bridge.

8. Cave + castle + photo = perfection
What do you need for a perfect photo location? You take a photogenic medieval castle and put it in a cave, which is located in a 123-meter -high cliff. If you add a Robin Hood legend to it, you get a perfect location for your visit. The Predjama Castle is the largest cave castle in the world and it is a perfect place to take a picture for your Instagram feed. Visit the castle in spring and autumn to avoid the crowds.

9. For history buffs and technology enthusiasts
Not only natural and cultural monuments, some might find the perfect photo location in the places you couldn’t imagine. One of this “specialexperiencesthatyoucannotseeanywhereintheworld” is the photo location inside the only submarine in Slovenia. It is located in the Park of Military History in Pivka, a new and modern museum in Slovenia. Visit the interior of the submarine with all of the technological gadgets from the 1980s or take part in some of their festivals representing historical events from Slovenian history. Fun guaranteed.

Our favourite place and photo opportunity is the photo observation of wild brown bears in their natural habitat. This is one of our most famous photography tours in Slovenia. You can see the largest European wild beast roam freely through the green primeval forests. Best time to visit is from April until October. Our tip: don’t go into the forests alone
