The “At the Old Lady” museum collections tell the stories of the First World War and hunting on Slovenian soil. The area of the Green Karst has always been of great strategic importance and has been conquered by many different armies through the centuries. The story of the First World War is presented with exhibits from the Isonzo Front, while the hunting collection presents the rich tradition of hunting in the Postojna area and in Slovenia. The latter collection presents the animal world of the forests, including the biggest European beasts (brown bear, lynx) and the local peculiarities, such as polharstvo (dormouse hunting). The museum also houses a bar and a small wine shop. The museum offers products from local producers and craftsmen: wine from Goriška Brda, Kras, the Vipava Valley and Slovenska Istra, mead and schnapps from Postojna, local honey, handicrafts and souvenirs.
