Visit castles located in the Green Karst area and discover the rich history of Slovenia. Take a stroll along the scenic trails and through the woods and taste fantastic local wines. This short break is ideal for anyone who wants to explore our countryside but doesn't have a whole week to spare.

First day:

Depending on the time of your arrival, you can stop by the airport near Postojna to see the pearls of the area - Predjama Castle. The largest cave castle in the world is a unique castle trapped in a rock that is unmatched in the world. After the tour, we will take you to Bac, where your accommodation is located. Delicious dinner will be waiting for you at the eco-tourist farm.

Second day:

Exploring our countryside will begin immediately after breakfast. In the horse saddle, you will embark on a beautiful path surrounded by greenery that will lead you to Kalec Castle ruins. After seeing its remains, you will be able to lie down in the shade of the trees. After a short break, we will continue to the village of Knežak, where you will have lunch. Before returning to Šembije you will ride to the viewpoint and indulge in the beauty of the Slovenian Karst. Dinner will be waiting for you at Bač village.

Riding time: 7-8 hours

Third day:

Your vacation will continue riding along the stunning natural wall and through Kilovče, all the way to the village of Prem, which is famous for its preserved medieval castle. Here you will have the opportunity to look around and take photos of the unbelievable nature. After a short break, you will jump back on horses, ride past the old village of Smrje and arrive at the tourist farm and homestead Bubec. After a delicious lunch and rest in the shade, you will cross the River Reka, see the charming mill and return to Šembije.

Riding time: 7-8 hours

The fourth day:

Pleasant macadam trails will take you to the Črne njive bar, where you will enjoy a drink, then continue along forest paths that offer a charming view of the valley. Lunch will be served in a hut in the middle of the forest. After lunch, you will descend towards Šembije on the peaks of Velika Milanja, where you can see all the way to the Adriatic Sea on a clear day.

Riding time: 6-7 hours

Fifth day:

After breakfast, you will be taken to the airport for your flight home or on a further trip.

Accommodation and food

You will spend the night in Bac, on the ecological tourist farm ”Pri Pozarju”. The farm has six double rooms, each with its own bathroom and entrance. All rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast and dinner are served at the farm. Lunch is available at various inns and restaurants in the surrounding area. You will enjoy homemade food and local wine. Most of the dishes are meat, but there is also the possibility of preparing vegetarian meals.
