15th Hike through Loška dolina
The Hike through Loška Dolina is a great opportunity to discover the area from a different perspective – on foot and in good company. The circular route runs along the outskirts of the Loško Polje plain, mostly over flat and easy terrain. It largely follows the Loška Dolina Heritage Trail, marked with distinctive yellow and green signs, with additional ribbons and directional signs provided for hikers.
You can complete the route on your own, but it is even more enjoyable in the company of our guides. You can join one of the guided groups at the starting point, and along the way our guides will share interesting stories about Loška Dolina. In this way, the hike is not only a pleasant recreational activity, but also an opportunity to discover the places and stories of the area you will be walking through.
Longer or shorter route?
For hikers who enjoy a few extra kilometres, we have prepared a circular route of just over 21 kilometres. At a moderate pace, including stops along the way, it will take approximately six hours.
There is also a shorter 11-kilometre route, suitable for those looking for a somewhat shorter hike. It branches off from the longer route before the hamlet of Siga, then continues past Bajer and Viševek and through Stari Trg before returning towards Lož. The shorter route takes approximately three hours.
Refreshments will also be available along the way. Residents of the villages will offer you hot drinks, and upon reaching the finish, you will be treated to a true local speciality – kaura, a traditional stew that is sure to hit the spot after the kilometres you have walked.
How much does the hike cost?
Registration fee:
