Culinary Experience in a Former Waggoners’ Inn
In this former waggoners’ inn, built in 1884, with its bread oven, wood-burning stove and numerous period features, you’ll get a sense of the era when waggoners and their horses transported goods along historic trade routes. Tasting traditional local dishes is made even more enjoyable by the stories of the waggoners who used to stop here.
In the authentic surroundings of the Notranjska Hiša in Selšček, this is more than a meal – it’s an opportunity to experience the character of Notranjska and the Green Karst. The menu features hearty soups and stews, meat specialities, homemade bread baked in a traditional bread oven, krompirjevi žganci, and homemade desserts. If you wish, you can even help prepare some of these traditional dishes.
Complete the experience with an overnight stay at the Notranjska Hiša. This protected heritage building offers not only memorable stories and authentic cuisine, but also three comfortable guest rooms, a spacious dining room, a kitchen and room for socialising.
