Your exploration of the Pivka Intermittent Lakes Landscape Park begins at the Ecomuseum. Through engaging stories and interactive exhibits, you’ll learn about the unique phenomenon of intermittent lakes. There are 17 of them. Nowhere else in the world are there so many intermittent lakes in such a small area. When the water recedes, the lake basins are transformed into colourful meadows that provide an important habitat for a rich diversity of plants and wildlife.
You can explore the Ecomuseum and the Landscape Park independently, or choose a guided visit that continues with a walk to Petelinje Lake.
