What should you do if you encounter a bear in the wild? How does a wolf live? Why is the Eurasian lynx so elusive? At the unique DINA Centre for Large Carnivores in Pivka, you’ll step into the fascinating world of Slovenia’s three largest predators and discover their lives through ten interactive exhibits.
Against the backdrop of an enchanted forest, the centre brings the world of large carnivores to life through augmented reality. Follow animal tracks, browse the animals’ playful posts on “Zverbook”, and discover what it means to share the forests with bears, wolves and lynx.
Choose the experience that suits you best. Explore the centre independently or join a guided tour to discover lesser-known facts about Slovenia’s large carnivores, challenge common misconceptions, learn about the realities of coexistence, and gain practical advice on safe and responsible behaviour in nature. After the guided tour, you are welcome to continue exploring the centre at your own pace or, by prior arrangement, watch a short film featuring Goru the lynx, Slavc the wolf and Katja the bear.
