Planinska gora, 873 m

The peak above Planina Field offers a special view when the field is flooded with water. The view of the large intermittent lake is a special reason for the easy climb to the top and the Church of St. Mary.

The church, first mentioned in the 15th century, was once a pilgrimage site, and archaeological findings show that the summit was inhabited in prehistoric times due to its strategic location.

The hike to the summit can also be combined with a visit to the Planina Cave, combining the beauty of the rugged surface with the peculiarities of the underground karst world. Planinska gora rises right above the cave system, and as you ascend, you may think you are stepping over underground river currents.
