Nataša Mele

Cultural heritage interpreter and tourist guide Nataša Mele welcomes visitors at a former coachman's inn - the famous Notranjska House, built in 1884.

Upon arrival, guests are greeted in traditional costume, with the warmth and authenticity of bygone times, and invited to an experience where history comes to life through stories, objects and customs of our ancestors.

With her storytelling, she takes guests back to the time of coachmen, travellers and villagers who once co-created life along the important transport routes of Notranjska. In the old house, she presents the former culture of living, everyday work, cuisine, customs and rich heritage of the place. Visitors can feel the atmosphere of old homeliness and get to know life as it used to be.

She also dedicates a special part of the tour to presenting the birthplace of the Slovenian painter Maksim Gaspari, whose images of the Slovenian countryside, holidays and folk customs still represent an important part of Slovenian cultural identity today. Through stories about his life and work, it brings visitors closer to the artist's connection to his native environment and the importance of his heritage for the Slovenian nation.

The experience is a blend of interpretation of cultural heritage, storytelling, and genuine personal contact, allowing visitors to step into the world of the past for a moment and feel the spirit of Notranjska as it once was.
