Tour inside a P-111 police boat
Step aboard what was once the largest patrol and rescue boat of the Slovenian Maritime Police. Since 1995, it has been used for the protection of the national border, control of sea border crossing points, fisheries and ecological controls, and rescue of people and property at sea. It was also occasionally used as a protocol vehicle.
The vessel, almost 20 metres long and weighing 44 tonnes, reaching the speed of up to 37 knots (68km/h), represented the modern power of the Slovenian maritime fleet. There was a permanent crew of four on board, with room for nine more. Another special feature was the P-45, a JET-powered auxiliary inflatable raft designed for shallow waters where the large P-111 could not go.
In 2021, the boat became part of the permanent collection of the Park of Military History. Today, it allows visitors to enter its inner world with a guide and experience how the crew worked on their patrols.
Timetable – according to the schedule of the Park of Military History, but with a mandatory advance notice!
Guided tours of the police boat are available by prior reservation and at an additional cost, and are conducted in small groups according to a pre-arranged schedule.
