DINA Centre of Large Carnivores Pivka

Come and visit the wolf, the lynx and the bear. In the centre of Pivka, enter the unique DINA Centre of Large Carnivores, which introduces you to the mysterious world of the three largest inhabitants of the Green Karst forests in a modern and interactive way. Ten interactive stations provide you with all information you ever wanted to know about these remarkable animals.

What do they eat, what interests them and where do they roam? Who do they have problems with and who has problems with them? Why does a lynx pee against a tree and what does bear fur do on a tree trunk? Why is bear excrement green one time and purple the next? Answers to questions like these are provided with the help of technology that turns you into a real researcher. Experience the world through the senses of animals, find their tracks with augmented reality, and check the posts on ”Zverbook” (Beastbook). You can also try your hand at switching on an electric fence, take the Quick Paws quiz, and learn what to do if you stumble upon animals in real life through short films.

At the Dina Centre, expert knowledge is translated into a language that everyone – including children – can understand. The visit is therefore suitable for families, school groups and anyone who would like to learn more about the coexistence of humans and large carnivores in a fun and entertaining way.
